The ex-husband of the former first lady has moved to a court against former prime minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi seeking action against the couple for establishing an illicit relationship during the Iddat period of his ex-wife, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Khawar Maneka filed a case in the court of Civil Judge Qudratullah against his former wife Bushra Bibi and her new husband Imran Khan on Saturday.
The case was lodged under the Clause 496-B, Section 494/34.
Maneka also recorded his statement before the judge.
He accused his former wife and former premier of establishing illicit relations even before their marriage. He said he had felt compelled to divorce Bushra Bibi after he got solid evidence of her illicit relations with Imran Khan.
He alleged in his statement that both Bushra and Imran eloped before their marriage.
Maneka said that he belongs to the Maneka family of Pakpattan. In 1989, he got married to Bushra Bibi, through whose sister they came in contact with the PTI chairman during the Islamabad sit-in.
It has been stated in the application that Bushra Bibi's sister residing in Dubai has a close relationship with the Jewish lobby. He said with the passage of time, the PTI chairman started interfering in his married life. He said he tried to remove the PTI chairman from his family in a respectful manner, but the latter’s continuous interference continued.
Khawar Maneka further said in the petition that the PTI chairman entered his personal life and his house taking advantage of the ‘pir and disciple relationship’.
He said that Imran Khan used to come to his house in his absence and spend hours in his house which is against Islamic teachings.
Maneka said that one day when he came home suddenly, Zulfi Bukhari was in his bedroom. He said by that time, Bushra Bibi started visiting Bani Gala House.
In his petition, Manika requested the court to summon and punish the PTI chairman and Bushra Bibi.
On Maneka’s complaint, the magistrate’s court issued notices to three witnesses and adjourned the hearing till November 28.
The witnesses included Awn Chaudhry, Mufti Saeed and an employee of Khawar Maneka.
Yesterday, the judicial magistrate court disposed of a petition against the “unlawful” nikah of former prime minister Imran Khan after the complainant withdrew his petition.
The petitioner, Mohammad Hanif, sought legal action against Imran for marrying Bushra Bibi allegedly during her Iddat.
“Iddat” is the period a Muslim woman must observe after the death of her husband or after a divorce, during which she may not remarry.
Petitioner Hanif informed the court in Islamabad of his intention to take back the case against the PTI chairman’s Nikah with Bushra Bibi, citing technical reasons.
The PTI chief married Bushra Bibi in February 2018 in a ceremony held in Lahore and attended by only close relatives.
Mufti Saeed performed the nikah in the presence of PTI leaders Awn Chaudhary and Zulfi Bukhari, who appeared as witnesses.
However, Mr Chaudhry, who was a close aide to Imran Khan before parting ways, previously testified before the court that the PTI chief married on Jan 1, 2018.
A few days ago, Maneka held former premier Imran Khan responsible for ruining his married life and accusing him of visiting his ex-wife at odd hours before their marriage.
He revealed this in an explosive interview given to a private TV channel on Monday night. The interview was given a week after Maneka was released from jail on bail in a land-grabbing case.
