ATC approves 6-day physical remand of Imran Khan for inciting public to violence

Anti-Terrorism Court Rawalpindi has approved 6 -day physical remand of PTI founder Imran Khan for inciting public to violence during PTI protest call on September 28, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The extension of physical remand of the accused was obtained by police from ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah. A case has been registered against the accused in New Town Rawalpindi Police Station for giving a protest call on September 28. Imran Khan is accused of inciting the workers for violent protests. 

ATC Judges has directed police to produced Imran Khan in the court on December 2, 2024. Earlier, prosecutor told the court that accused Imran Khan was creating hurdles in interrogation of the case.  The prosecutor contended that Imran Khan refused to join the investigation, while police have collected evidence regarding the protest call. 

Zaheer Shah, public prosecutor said the records of meetings with founder PTI in jail have also been taken into custody. The Public Prosecutor Zaheer Shah told the court that letters have been sent to PEMRA, FIA and PID for further evidence on the basis that PTI founder refused to record the statement. PTI lawyers opposed further remand.
