PHC judges appointment: CJP convenes Judicial Commission meeting on Dec 6

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has scheduled a Judicial Commission meeting for December 6 to deliberate on the appointment of judges to the Peshawar High Court (PHC).

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the judicial commission meeting will focus on filling judicial vacancies to ensure smooth operations in the Peshawar High Court.

It is noteworthy that a Judicial Commission meeting was held yesterday regarding the nomination of judges for constitutional benches in the Sindh High Court. 

Presided over by CJP Yahya Afridi, the session addressed a single-point agenda: the nomination of nine judges for constitutional benches in Sindh.

The nominations were approved through an 11-vote majority for a two-month tenure. Justice KK Agha was appointed as the head of the constitutional benches and committee in the Sindh High Court (SHC). 

Other appointed judges include Justice Umar Sial, Justice Muhammad Saleem, Justice Zulfiqar Ali Sangi, Justice Arbab Ali, Justice Yusuf Ali Syed, Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, Justice Sana Minhas Ikram, and Justice Abdul Mubeen.
