Pakistan Railways (PR) have increased the fares of trains due to inflated prices of petroleum products (POL), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PR have increased 5 percent fares for freight train and 10 percent for passenger trains.
According to the Ministry of Railways, Pakistan railways formed a committee to increase the fares due to inflated prices of POL products.
The committee proposed the advice to increase 15 percent train ticket prices, said Railways spokesman.
Ministry said that to reduce economic burden on passengers, railway increased only five percent fare for freight train while 10 percent for passenger train to reduce burden on passengers.
