Singer cum actor Meesha Shafi along with American actress Alicia Silverstone will feature in the upcoming film Mustache. Imran J. Khan, who has won numerous short film awards, will soon release Mustache, his first feature film, which is largely autobiographical.
As per media reports, the film focuses on an eccentric 13-year-old boy named Ilyas (played by Atharva Verma), who joins his new California public school with a grown mustache that his parents do not let him shave off. In the movie, Shafi plays Ilyas' mother, Rizwan Manji plays his father Hameed, and Ayana Manji plays Yasmeen, one of his school friends.
American comedian Hasan Minhaj is also featured in this film. There are no specifics available about Silverstone's character.
Along with Shafi playing the mother and Ayana Manji playing his friend Yasmeen from high school, Rizwan Manji plays Ilyas' father Hameed in the movie.
Meesha Shafi previously featured in movies: To Strike, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Mira Nair's thriller The Reluctant Fundamentalist.
