Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has removed prominent lawyer Faisal Chaudhry Advocate from the party’s legal group, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Friday.
According to PTI sources, Faisal Chaudhry was removed from several official WhatsApp groups of the party following disagreements over the party’s leadership stance on key issues. The internal rift gained momentum after Advocate Intizar Panjutha was abducted, leading to growing concerns and a temporary deactivation of the PTI legal team’s main communication group.
The sources said Salman Akram Raja admonished Faisal Chaudhry, warning him against making unnecessary statements to the media after meeting the party’s founder, Imran Khan. Salman Akram Raja also asserted that such actions were inappropriate and counterproductive.
In response, Advocate Faisal Chaudhry expressed that his expulsion was a consequence of his honesty towards the PTI founder.
“I faced consequences for speaking the truth,” Chaudhry remarked, adding, “I cannot lie to Imran Khan or to PTI workers.”
Chaudhry disclosed that he had shared all details, including events at Adiala Jail and the protests at D-Chowk, with the PTI founder Imran Khan during his last meeting.
