After adulterated eye injection, DRAP declares fever syrup unsafe

After the revelation of adulterated Avastin injection in market, the sale of another substandard syrup has also been reported.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, DRAP has declared one batch of the Pedolil Suspension syrup substandard.
The drug regulatory authority has issued an alert for the recall of the product.
Batch 167 of the Pedolil was declared substandard.
The syrup is manufactured by JASM Pharma of Risalpur.
According to DRAP, the batch was declared substandard by Federal Drug Analyst and CDL, Karachi.
The DRAP has issued an alert for doctors and chemists. It has directed physicians not to give Pedolil syrup of this batch to their patients.
It has also asked chemists to recall this batch from market.
DRAP has further directed the provincial drug teams to increase their surveillance in the medicine market.
Pedolil Suspension syrup is used for mild to moderate pain and fever.
The drug authority has warned that use of substandard fever medicine can cause blood disease, kidney and liver damage.
