Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce and Industries Dr. Gohar Ejaz has revealed an audacious plan for the nation's economic resurgence, aiming to propel exports to a staggering $10 billion within the current fiscal year.
Speaking exclusively to 24NewsHD TV channel, the minister announced the convening of a crucial meeting of the federal cabinet's committee on the economic recovery plan, with the primary objective of restoration the national economy promptly.
The minister revealed that Pakistan had achieved an export surplus of $10 billion, with an impressive $3 billion increase over the past six months alone.
He emphasized that the ministry's sole focus is the rapid revival of dormant domestic industries, outlining plans to facilitate law-abiding industries with competitive electricity and gas prices.
The upcoming meeting will discuss electricity and gas pricing, with the minister's commitment to providing preferential rates for industries operating within the law.
Addressing the concerns of industries using their power plants, Dr. Ejaz emphasized the need for average gas prices while acknowledging regional disparities.
The Commerce and Industries minister also pledged to introduce wheeling charges in the electricity sector, underlining the urgency of revitalizing domestic industries.
