Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that in order to bring durable peace in the region, it is need of the hour to bring clam on Pak-Afghan border, adding that all political issues should be settled through negotiations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
JI chief was addressing the participants of Jirga which was attended by JI leaders and workers from Peshawar and tribal districts of the province. Hafiz Naeem made it clear that gulf between the public and Army is not good omen and war is not a solution to the political issues. He said former dictator General Musharraf accepted US demand in one phone call from the US.
JI chief said after becoming part of US war on terror, hundred of thousands of people fall prey to terrorism. Various manifestations of terrorism created differences between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Hafiz Naeem urged Afghanistan not to provide opportunities to terrorists to carry out terror acts in Pakistan.
Hafiz Naeem said that the government should negotiate with the government of Afghanistan as both countries have very old relations. He said, “We have an old relationship of brotherhood with Afghanistan”. He urged both sides to resolve the issues amicably. He said the task of the Pakistan Army is to secure the borders, if the forces will do the work of the police, the situation will worsen. Hafiz Naeem said Army should not be discredited because of some people. Everyone has to play their role for corruption free Pakistan. He demanded that all efforts should be made to provide education and employment opportunities for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
