In a rare incident, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK 536, bound for Sukkur, left two passengers stranded at Karachi airport due to overloading, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
Among the left-behind passengers were JUI's Inter-Party Chief Election Commissioner Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darwish and Assistant Election Commissioner Mufti Nasir Mahmood.
"We were informed by PIA officials that the flight was over capacity, and despite having confirmed tickets, we were not allowed to board," said Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darwish.
The cleric further alleged that their tickets were resold at inflated prices. "Our tickets were sold in black at double the price to other passengers."
Darwish, who was traveling to Sukkur for JUI Sindh's Inter-Party Election, expressed his intent to take legal action against PIA and added that the airline offered to refund the ticket cost, though it did not make up for the inconvenience caused.
