A meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) was briefed Thursday that there had been no vaccine available for the treatment of monkeypox in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The meeting, chaired by the health secretary, reviewed planning and operations against coronavirus and monkeypox.
All the provincial health secretaries attended the meeting. A briefing was also given on the monkeypox cases reported in provinces.
A detailed discussion was also held in the meeting on monkeypox vaccination, and the meeting was told that there was no vaccine in Pakistan to deal with monkeypox.
“The World Health Organisation will be approached for the monkeypox vaccine,” it was decided in the meeting.
