Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered launching of a crackdown against drug peddlers and other criminal gangs in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
For curbing drug mafia, the Interior Minister has given the Inspector General (IG) of Police Islamabad the task.
He said that drug dealers should be brought under the grip of the law through modern technology.
The interior minister said that the sale of other narcotic goods including ice outside the educational institutions will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also ordered effective action against professional beggars in the city.
Moreover, Mohsin Naqvi directed to ensure foolproof security of foreign nationals and in this regard it has been decided to establish a special protection force for the security of foreigners.
Special attention should be paid to the security of important places including the red zone, directed Mohsin Naqvi.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also ordered to ensure 100 percent registration of FIRs and delay in registration of FIR is not acceptable.
Mohsin Naqvi also ordered to deal with promotion cases of Islamabad Police immediately as promotions will improve morale of police force.
He also directed to complete recruitment process for vacant posts in Islamabad Police.
Mohsin Naqvi said we will make the salary of Islamabad police equal to that of Punjab.
Mohsin Naqvi also sought a comprehensive plan to solve traffic problems in Islamabad.
Islamabad Safe City also has to be equipped with modern requirements, said Interior Minister.
They are improving the condition of police stations in Islamabad, better results will be obtained soon, the Interior Minister said.
