Jahangir Khan Tareen-group’s MPA Sardar Khurram Khan Leghari Friday succeeded to get interim bail against his arrest to harass a female named Amna Yaqub in Lahore.
He denied firing at the house of the female and also declared the victim as his wife but failed to produce their Nikkah Nama (marriage certificate) to the police to prove his claim.
Anyhow, according to the 24News HD TV channel, Lahore High Court had given orders to the police not to arrest the Member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab (MPA) Khurram till August 31, 2021.
The MPA told the police on a telephonic contact that he did not open fire on the house but had some quarrel with his wife (the victim of harassment Amna Yaqub).
The police investigating officer asked Khurram Leghari to come to the police station with the marriage certificate but he acted reluctantly and later hung up the phone.
Lahore police have registered a case against the MPA under the sections of harassment, breaking the house, aerial firing and making some death threats of the Pakistan Penal Code.
