The notorious Shar Gang has claimed responsibility for the recent attack on police in the Kacha area of Rahim Yar Khan, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.
According to the channel report, the Shar gang's leader, Ranoon Daku, confessed to the police attack in a video statement that has since gone viral.
In the video, Ranoon Shar said the Sindh police had killed five brothers of Sonu Shar who were innocent.
He accused the police of inciting the Bugti tribe against the Shar clan a few months ago, resulting in significant losses for them in the Kacha area.
Ranoon Daku further claimed that the police had taken bribes from the Bugti tribe to target and kill members of the Shar gang.
The head of the Shar gang admitted that the killing of 12 police officers was an act of revenge.
He mentioned that their primary target was an SHO who had previously killed members of their gang, but that officer was not present during the attack.
He concluded by warning that the gang is now preparing for further confrontations with the police in the Kacha area.
On August 22, twelve policemen were martyred and seven others injured when dacoits ambushed two police vehicles in the Kacha area using rocket launchers.
The policemen were returning from a 15-day duty in the Kacha area, and their vehicles were stuck in the rain when the attack took place.
Continuous firing from the dacoits has hindered immediate rescue efforts, and a heavy police force has been called to the scene.
Before the martyrdom of the police personnel in the attack, videos went viral on social media. In the video, the police personnel's car is stuck in the water.
The dacoits first fired a rocket launcher, and then 15 to 20 dacoits opened straight fire on the policemen.
In response to the attack, police personnel in the Kacha area have been instructed to exercise extreme caution and wear bulletproof jackets.
According to the channel report, in the retaliatory action of the police the next day, one of the dacoits involved in the attack, Shabir Shar, has been killed, and his two accomplices have been injured.
