The returning officer (RO) on Tuesday rejected the nomination papers of Yasiruddin, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) candidate for the Sindh Assembly seat PS-109, Karachi, after the latter turned out be a defaulter of Karachi-Electric (K-Electric), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the RO, Yasir had received from the K-Electric electricity bill amounting to Rs100,000, out of which he had paid Rs10, 000 only.
“Since the candidate is still to pay the remaining Rs90,000, his papers cannot be accepted,” he said.
