Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Muhammad Zubair has said that Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision to hold by-election in the entire NA-75 constituency in Sialkot’s Daska area is the first step towards removal of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from power.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday evening, Zubair said that PTI candidate for the Senate seat from Islamabad Abdul Hafeez Shaikh comes to Pakistan just to grab power otherwise he has no sympathy with Pakistan. He said the loans the PTI has taken in two and a half years are more than the amount of loans the PML-N took in its five-year tenure. He said the PML-N spent the money taken as loan on power houses, motorways and Metro Bus Service, but nobody knew where the PTI was spending the money taken as loan from foreign institutions.
The former Sindh governor said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should answer questions about the video scandal, wherein some lawmakers of the ruling PTI were seen taking bribe from the front men of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) against their vote before the Senate election of 2018. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would hold Hafeez Shaikh responsible for the poor economy when he was in opposition, but now he was trying to have the same man elected to the Senate. He said the IMF approved Pakistan's loan request within 15 days after Hafeez Shaikh replaced Asad Umar as finance minister because IMF representatives were sitting on both sides of the table.
