Karachi Airport Security Force (ASF) has foiled an attempt to smuggle gold and currency out of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The ASF officials said that during operation, foreign currency worth Rs16 million was recovered from a passenger on a flight heading to Bangkok.
The passenger travelling on the Bangkok flight was identified as Imran Gul Awan.
The passenger had hidden 251 grams of gold and foreign currency in his bag, the ASF officials said.
They said during manual search of the suspicious bag, the said currency and gold were recovered.
The accused was handed over to Pakistan Customs for further legal action along with recovered gold and currency, said ASF officials.
