Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has allotted portfolios to eight ministers of the provincial cabinet on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
SM Tanveer has been given the portfolios of Energy and Industries. Dr Javed Akram has been allotted Specialized Healthcare portfolio.
Ibrahim Murad has been given the portfolio of Municipalities, while Bilal Afzal has been given the C&W Department, and Dr Jamal Nasir has been given the Primary Health portfolio.
In the same fashion, Mansoor Qadir has been allotted the portfolio of Higher Education and the Schools Education, Auqaf and Zakat portfolio goes to Syed Azfar Ali Nasir, and Aamir Mir has been given Information portfolio.
The S&GAD department has issued a formal notification in this regard.
Meeting with governor
CM Mohsin also held a meeting with Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman in which views were exchanged on issues of bilateral interest.
The governor and the CM also deliberated upon on steps for ensuring free and fair general elections.
On this occasion, CM Naqvi said that maintaining law and order was the first priority and police have been given a free hand in this regard because peaceful atmosphere is the right of every citizen.
The chief minister further said that the government was ready to deliver on its responsibility to hold free and transparent elections.
He said the provincial administration will impart its duty impartially throughout Punjab and will play its constitutional role within the framework of ECP.
Cabinet meeting
CM Mohsin Naqvi has also called the first meeting of the interim Punjab cabinet on Saturday.
