Adds rain forecast for province’s plains on January 30, January 31
At last good news for the people yearning for rain as the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Punjab on Saturday issued an alert to the district administrations about rain and snow in different upper parts of the province from today (January 27) to January 31, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The PDMA spokesman said that there was a forecast for light to moderate rain as well as snow in Murree and Galyat during these five days due to which there could be travel disruptions.
The spokesman further said that rain was expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali and Sargodha on January 30 and January 31.
However, in its alert issued yesterday, the PDMA had forecast rain for different parts of Punjab from Jan 25 to 28, adding plains of the province would remain blanketed in dense fog during the last week of the current month.
In a statement, the PDMA spokesperson had said that Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan, Rawalpindi and several areas of the Gujranwala Division would receive downpour whereas Murree and its adjoining areas were expected to receive rain as well as snowfall.
