The Establishment Division in an office memorandum issued on Tuesday sought assets and property details of bureaucrats from grade-18 to grade-21, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The Establishment Division has started compiling officers’ asset data and sought details from the civil servants belonging to Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS), Police Service of Pakistan (PSP),  Office Management Group (OMG) and Secretariat Group.

It is reported that officers will be provided a performa by August 31 which they need to fill and submit at the Establishment Division by September 4. The officers were also directed to submit an affidavit by September 15.

The Establishment Division issued a circular to the Prime Minister Office, the President’s Office, all ministries and chief secretaries.

Earlier in April, the Establishment Division refused to make public the details of assets owned by bureaucracy, arguing this was a time-consuming task and not in its domain.

As per reports, the Establishment Division even challenged the order of the Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) which has sought disclosure of details of assets owned by civil servants, particularly officers of powerful service cadres such as the Pakistan Administrative Service and Police Service of Pakistan.  It warned that the babus will face the music if they don’t provide details.
