In an important development in former Pakistani ambassador’s daughter Noor Muqaddam murder case, police on Tuesday completed the interrogation from suspect Zahir’s father and mother, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Although the two-day physical remand period of the suspect’s parents Jaafar Zakir and Asmat Adam Ji expired on Tuesday, police decided not to seek an extension in their remand after Noor’s parents granted permission for that.
Police had taken both father and mother of suspect Zahir into custody three days back on charges of aiding the commission of a crime and concealing the facts.
Earlier in the day, District and Session Court in Islamabad had sent Zahir’s parents and two servants to the jail on judicial remand and ordered the police to produce them again on August 10.
Noor Muqaddam, daughter of ex-Pakistan’s envoy Shaukat Muqaddam, was murdered in the federal capital’s sector F-7/4 around a week ago by her boyfriend Zahir Jafar who first thrashed her for around three hours before slashing her throat.
