A fire broke out in a multi-storey plaza located on Shahrae Faisal in Karachi on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to rescue official, the fire on the ninth floor of Kashif Centre spread quickly to the upper floors.
The firefighters said that many people were trapped in the plaza. Four vehicles of the fire brigade and a snorkel were engaged in extinguishing the fire.
The rescuers said that some people were reported to still be in the building and they were being evacuated from the building with the help of a snorkel.
Another snorkel has also been summoned, the rescue officials said and added Kashif Centre building consists of fifteen floors.
On receiving the information, the vehicles of the fire brigade immediately arrived, the fire brigade official added.
The fire has been stopped from spreading further, the rescuers said.
A citizen coming out of the building said that there is no emergency exit in the building. He said fire was spreading in the electric wires while fire brigade arrived late.
