West Indies were dismissed for 282 on the opening day of the third Test against England at Edgbaston on Friday after winning the toss.

The tourists were well-placed at 76-0 only to lose a flurry of wickets either side of lunch in slumping to 115-5 as they suffered another of the batting collapses that have been their undoing this series.

But former captain Jason Holder, who made 59, and Joshua Da Silva (49) repaired some of the damage with a sixth-wicket partnership of 104 after captain Kraigg Brathwaite had made 61 at the top of the order.

Fast bowler Gus Atkinson took wickets at both ends of the innings to finish with 4-67 from 20 overs, with new-ball partner Chris Woakes taking 3-69 on his Warwickshire home ground.

England have already won this three-match series at 2-0 up following victories by an inning and 114 runs and 241 runs at Lord's and Trent Bridge respectively.
