Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister Azam Khan Swati has disclosed that the name of the sitting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) was given by the Establishment as a “Neutral Empire”.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Azam Swati in a statement on Monday said that during the PTI’s government, they have given the name of Babar Yaqub for the post of CEC.
But, the Establishment did not agree with the PTI’s proposal, Swati said.
He added that they were assured by the Establishment that their CEC would be impartial and the PTI government needs such a neutral umpire.
