The Balochistan High Court (BHC) issued a stay order against holding the election of the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) tomorrow, June 27.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the stay order was issued by the bench headed by BHC Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan on a constitutional petition filed by Gul Muhammad Kakar.
The channel report said the constitutional petition was filed against the June 22 notification of the PCB's Board of Governors.
The petition said the notification dated June 22 is against the PCB's constitution while the Board of Governors is scheduled to elect the chairman on June 27.
The court approved the application for a regular hearing and issued an order to issue a notice to the parties.
The court restrained the concerned authorities from the election of the PCB chairman until further order.
