Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed an application in the apex court to become a party in the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) special seats case which was under process in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, reported 24News HD TV channel.
PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan filed an appeal to become a party in the case. In the application, PTI requested that it should be made a party in the case of SIC special seats.
PTI claimed that during the hearing of the case in SC, the ECP made serious allegations against PTI which were contrary to facts. PTI contended that PTI and SIC were deprived of special seats which were illegally distributed to other political parties by ECP.
PTI claimed in the plea that SIC and PTI were eligible for special seats and the allotment of special seats to other political parties was unconstitutional. PTI also contended that the Sunni Ittehad Council was ready to submit the list of candidates for special seats as PTI was not allowed to present the list.
