Internal rifts have intensified within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party, with over 27 members reportedly deciding to resign following Sheharyar Afridi's resignation statement, sources reveal.

According to a 24NewsHD TV channel report on Tuesday, prominent members including Shandana Gulzar and Sher Afzal Marwat, have voiced their dissatisfaction with the party leadership's competence.

Additionally, PTI and Sunni Ittehad Council Members of the National Assembly have excused themselves from participating in parliamentary party meetings due to these differences.

Concerns have also been raised about the parliamentary leadership in the Senate and senior leadership in the National Assembly, with leaders suspecting compromise for committee positions. Members expressed frustration, stating that instead of focusing on the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, efforts are being directed toward vying for leadership roles.

Sources indicate that there were consultations on forming a separate group consisting 21 PTI assembly members.

Messages were sent to Barrister Gauhar Khan and Omar Ayub Khan, urging them to make serious efforts to address the situation.
