Meghan Markle has come under fire for allegedly using her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to boost her brand, As Ever. Critics claim the Duchess of Sussex, who rarely shares photos of her children, is leveraging their public appeal to gain sympathy and support.
The backlash erupted after Meghan posted a candid photo on Instagram, where she is seen holding Lilibet in her arms while Archie clings to her leg. Captioning the post, she wrote, "Every day is a love story." While the post received admiration from her followers, royal experts and critics accused her of hypocrisy.
Royal commentator Tom Bower slammed the Duchess, telling MailOnline, “The main charge against Meghan is hypocrisy and crude profiteering from her title. Every venture she tries—TV, politics, philanthropy, books, food, and clothes—is ridiculed.” He further alleged that Meghan is trying to gain sympathy from American mothers by constantly mentioning her role as a mom.
Richard Fitzwilliams, another royal expert, also weighed in, stating, “The Sussexes know anything involving Archie and Lilibet is news. They are obsessive about privacy—except when it suits them. She is ruthless.”
The controversy has reignited debates over Meghan and Prince Harry’s stance on privacy, as the couple has previously spoken against media intrusion while still occasionally sharing glimpses of their personal lives.
