A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on Richter Scale jolted twin cities of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday noon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to National Seismic Centre, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Hindukush mountainous region of Afghanistan.
The quake’s depth was recorded at 198 kms.
Tremors were felt in Peshawar, Nathiagali, Buner, Swabi, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Swat, Chitral, Shangla, Malakand and other areas.
People came out of their houses and offices after the earthquake while no damage or injuries have been reported so far.
