The funeral prayers of Begum Shamim Akhtar, mother of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, were offered on Friday at the Regent’s Park mosque in London where only close family members, friends and colleagues were present because of the coronavirus pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the coronavirus guidelines, only 30 people could attend the Namaz-i-Janaza.
Meanwhile, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Friday shared an image of her father Nawaz Sharif standing beside the body of his mother Begum Shamim Akhtar in London.
A son, deserving the prayers of mother, hands over his mother to Almighty Allah, said Maryam in a tweet.
Similarly, the wife of Suleman Shehbaz posted another image where Nawaz could be seen consoling with a female family member.
Earlier, video clips of Nawaz and others were shared on Twitter in which they could be leaving their residence and reaching the mosque.

Soon after offering the funeral prayers, Nawaz and other family members left for the airport from where the body would be sent to Lahore for burial.
