PTI senior provincial vice president and former MNA Junaid Akbar was arrested after his bail application was rejected by an anti-terrorism court in the May 9 violence case in Malakand, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The former MNA was accused of torching a toll plaza during the May 9 riots following the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan last year in a corruption case.
A heavy contingent of Levies Force under the leadership of AC Shakeel Khan arrested the PTI leader.
After the arrest, Mr Akbar was shifted to the Levies Line.
