The Ministry of Power Division has approved the recruitment of officers and employees in LESCO and other power distribution companies on a lump sum package basis instead of regular employment.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the newly hired employees will not be eligible for pensions or other government benefits such as fuel allowances or official vehicles.

This decision aims to address staff shortages in the companies by offering limited, performance-based compensation.

The recruitment process will be monitored by the respective boards of directors of the companies.

A testing agency will be engaged to conduct exams for the selection of candidates.

The positions include SDOs, line superintendents, and other essential roles.

The initiative is expected to streamline operations in the power distribution sector without adding long-term financial liabilities to the companies.
