A court discharged former Punjab CM Parvez Elahi from the sugar mill case rejecting a physical remand request on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In its written order, the court declared that there was no evidence against Parveza Elahi, so the court discharged him from the case.
The court further wrote that lawyers are yet to discuss the Punjab Assembly case after which the court will decide about remand.
The court pointed out that the Lahore High Court has not issued its reserved decision yet and after the decision of LHC, this court will give a decision on the basis of arguments of both parties and in the light of the LHC decision.
Two-day remand in Punjab Assembly case
While announcing its reserved decision Judicial Magistrate Imran Abid gave a two-day physical remand of Parvez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly case.
Earlier, the court directed Parvez Elahi's lawyers to complete their arguments in the Punjab Assembly case.
