The Attorney General for Pakistan on Friday submitted the implementation report in the Faizabad sit-in review case to the Supreme Court, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the AGP report, a Fact-Finding Committee has been formed to implement the decision of February 6, 2019. The committee comprises the Additional Secretary of Interior, Additional Secretary of Defence, and the ISI Director.
The report said that the Fact-Finding Committee will conduct an inquiry under the prescribed TORs. It will investigate the evidence related to the Faizabad sit-in. It shall review all evidence, documents, and records obtained. It shall record the statements of witnesses.
The report further said that the Fact-Finding Committee shall act on the matter in accordance with law and regulation. It will submit its report with recommendations.
The first meeting of the committee was held on October 26 after the TORs were decided. It will submit its report to the Ministry of Defence on December 1.
The AGP requested the court to grant time to submit the final report.
According to the report, the Fact-Finding Committee will determine the responsible and handlers of the Faizabad sit-in.
It will also determine who gave the orders and managed the sit-in, the AGP report concluded.
