The funeral prayer of Ustad Tafoo Khan, the legendary musician of the Subcontinent, was held at the Kareem Block graveyard in Lahore on Sunday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, prominent figures from the showbiz industry, including renowned director Syed Noor, as well as a large number of citizens, attended the funeral.
Ustad Tafoo Khan was later laid to rest at Shahenshah Graveyard.
Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of legendary musician Tafoo Khan, marking it as a significant loss for the classical music fraternity.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, currently on a world tour, shared his condolences with Tafoo Khan’s sons, relatives and his renowned singer-nephew Sahir Ali Bagga.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan remarked, “Tafoo Khan’s departure has closed a significant chapter in the family of musicians.”
He highlighted Tafoo Khan’s unparalleled contribution to the world of tabla and classical music, calling it an irreplaceable loss for the industry.
The music community mourns the loss of a maestro whose contributions shaped and enriched the landscape of Pakistani music for decades.
