Court of senior civil judge in Okara on Tuesday granted to the police eight-day physical remand of Khawar Maneka, ex-husband of former first lady of Pakistan Bushra Bibi, who had been arrested from Lahore airport yesterday in a corruption case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Earlier, a team of anti-corruption police produced Maneka in the court, and requested it to grant his physical remand.

Deputy Commissioner Okara had sent a petition for the registration of a case against Maneka, his son and other persons in June this year for occupying the land belonging to the Auqaf Department and building shops and a wedding hall on it, causing a loss of million of rupees to the national exchequer.

It was after this that Maneka was booked and his name was put on the Exit Control List (ECL).
