At least eight subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Science and Technology are without heads, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The post of the head of the Pakistan Standard Quality Control, COMSATS University, is vacant.
The Pakistan Council for Science and Technology is also without a head.
The Pakistan Council for Renewable Energy and the Council for Works and Housing are also without heads.
The National Metrology Institute of Pakistan and the Technology and Commercialisation Corporation are also without heads.
All these institutions are being run by officers with an additional charge.
Due to the absence of permanent heads of these institutions, important works have been stopped.
“As the caretaker government in power, no permanent head of any organisation can be appointed,” the authorities concerned said.
“The permanent head of any institution is appointed by the prime minister,” they added.
