An international delegation led by Dr Sarah Clarke, Former President Royal College of Physicians, London, Dr Sebastian Alexander, and Dr Asad Rahim, Regional Director, CPSP Regional Centre Birmingham, UK, accompanied by Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, visited various departments of Mother & Child Block, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore.
Dr Sarah Clark, along with Vice Chancellor FJMU inaugurated the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the Paediatrics Department, which is being provided with more than 24 ventilator facilities.
Dr Sarah Clark said she had rarely seen such a state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She appreciated the vision of the Government of Punjab and the specialized healthcare Department.
Thereafter, the delegation also visited the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and addressed the ongoing training workshop on "VPD Surveillance."
Dr. Sarah Clark said that I am very impressed with the state-of-the-art health facilities provided at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore.
Dr. Sebastian Alexander said that the people of Pakistan are blessed to have access of state-of-the-art health facilities. We will try to take advantage of these modern facilities. I am deeply impressed by the exemplary contributions by Professor Khalid Masood Gondal.
The Vice Chancellor, FJMU Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, thanked the international delegation. He said that we are striving to provide the best public health facilities to humanity and maximum of childbirths every day in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is the best example of our model services.
On this occasion, Principal Prof. Abdul Hameed, Deans Prof. Ayesha Malik, Prof. Bilquis Shabbir, Prof. Naveed Akbar Hotiana, Prof. Imran Aslam, Prof. Shamila Ejaz Munir, Medical Superintendent Prof. Hafiz Moinuddin, Dr. Taskin Zahra, Dr. Anza Talal Niazi, and other faculty members were also present.
The delegation also visited the Lahore College for Women University headed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Khalid Masood Gondal and met the Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University Prof. Uzma Qureshi. Dean Institute of Pharmacy, Dr. Humaira, and other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
The heads of both institutions discussed with the delegation the issues of innovation on an international scale, expansion of the Business Incubation Centre headed by Dr. Taskeen Zahra at FJMU, supporting professional development, and meeting challenges together.
The Vice Chancellor, Lahore College for Women University, Prof. Uzma Qureshi, also presented honorary souvenirs to the Vice Chancellors, FJMU Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Dr. Sarah Clark, Dr. Sebastian Alexander, and Dr. Asad Rahim, as a token of appreciation.
