The United Nations rights office said it deplored the sentencing Thursday of Hong Kong editors Chung Pui-kuen and Patrick Lam, with the former handed a 21-month prison term for sedition.
"We deplore their sentencing on 'sedition' related charges. We reiterate the call made by the UN Human Rights Committee to repeal the colonial-era sedition provisions," said Liz Throssell, UN Human Rights Office spokeswoman.
