Amid the tall claims made about a small cabinet and slashing the unnecessary government expenditures, the cabinet of Prime Minister Imran Khan has completed half century, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
But the most important feature of this 50-strong cabinet are the 18 unelected members.
Meanwhile, the number of full-fledged federal ministers is now 27 with the addition of Shibli Faraz as information minister.
On the other hand, there are also four state ministers, five advisors and 14 special advisers.
The latest addition to the list of special advisers is Lt-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa but he didn’t receive the status of federal or state minister.
It is important to note that the prime minister has given the status of federal minister to two of his special advisers. They are Sania Nishtar and Arab Muhammad Shehzad.
Meanwhile, the cabinet size would have been even bigger if the prime minister had not kept some important portfolios for himself. The ministries being looked after by Imran directly are: finance, trade, health, environmental change, parliamentary affairs, parliamentary affairs and overseas Pakistanis.
