Former DG FIA Bashir Memon has said that he will respond in court when he will get the legal notice from Federal Law Minister Barrister Farogh Naseem.
Talking in live program Naseem Zehra @ 8 of 24 News HD TV channel on Wednesday, the former DG FIA said that he had fulfilled his responsibilities and will try to prove in the court that they had done something wrong.
He said when he would receive the legal notice, he would talk about it.
He questioned why not Faroogh Naseem wrote to the speaker assembly on this issue. He said Farogh Naseem should have asked the registrar of the Supreme Court to conduct an inquiry against him.
“I did not deny to investigate against anyone, but I had just told them that we did not have enough proofs,” he further said. He said he was a businessman and his family owned a ghee mill. He said there was no inquiry against him.
Earlier, Adviser to Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior (Federal Minister) Mirza Shahzad Akbar sent a legal notice to ex-DG FIA Bashir Memon to retract from accusation or pay sum of Rs500 million as compensation for causing irreparable damage to his reputation.
He also asked him to pay Rs2 million in terms of the legal fee.
