The federal government has approved the request of the Sindh government to deploy Army troops in the province for enforcing the corona-related SOPs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The interior ministry on Wednesday issued a notification in this regard and maintained that the military would be deployed as per Article 245 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
It may be mentioned here that Pakistan Army troops have already been deployed across the country except for Sindh where the joint flag march is being conducted to strictly implement corona-related SOPs.

Major-General Babar Iftikhar, director-general of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), told the media at a press briefing on Monday that there was an alarming increase in the patient death rate in the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
The ISPR DG said that Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Lahore, Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Faisalabad and Muzaffarabad had become the cities with the most number of COVID-19 cases.
The ISPR DG said the Army would come up to people’s expectations in difficult times and said that people’s trust was an asset of the Pakistan Army.

“The Army has been deployed in aid of the civil administration and the nation needs to be more careful than ever to stop the pandemic situation from deteriorating,” Babar Iftikhar added.
