A bomb attack targeted a tower of high-voltage power transmission lines of 220,000KV in Jamshoro, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Well-placed sources told 24NewsHD TV channel that the tower of high-voltage transmission lines from Jamshoro to Tando Muhammad Khan was damaged after its four pillars were blown up in the bomb blast.
“The tower, however, survived the attack as it did not collapse and power supply was also not disrupted,” said Zulfiqar Solangi, Superintendent Engineer, National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC).
“The collapse of high-voltage power transmission lines could cause huge damage. Passenger trains could have been damaged on the main railway line, but the strong tower survived the attack and did not fall,” he added.
Police and the personnel of other security institutions arrived at the scene. A bomb disposal squad was also called.
