Faithfuls observed Shab-e-Qadr or the Night of Power across the country Thursday night with religious fervour and zeal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Laylat al-Qadr, which is according to the Holy Quran, better than 1,000 months worship, signified the night when the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The faithfuls performed special prayers, nawafil, milad, zikr, Quran Khawani and religious discussions in mosques and in their houses in line with the traditional practice seeking mercy and blessings of the Almighty Allah.

Muslims are bestowed with several holy nights from Rajab-ul-Murajab to Ramazan-ul-Mubarak including Shab-e-Miraj, Shab-e-Barat and Shab-e-Qadr.

So valuable is this Night of Qadr that the Quran devotes a special Surah to it, saying: “Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Power. And what can make you know what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.” (97:1-5).
