The Punjab police on Friday registered a case against its own spokesperson for torturing, kidnapping and hurling life threats at an officer of a sensitive agency, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The case was registered on the complaint of the sensitive agency’s officer at South Cantt, Lahore. As many as 15-20 persons including Punjab police spokesperson Nayab Haider, his son Zarghan Abbas, Faizan Ali, Mastajab Haider, Intisab Hussain, and Nouman were nominated in the FIR.
The Punjab police arrested Nayab Haider.
The quarrel started between Haider and the officer of the sensitive agency on slow driving on the flyover of Cavalry Ground.
According to the FIR, the car of the officer was hit from behind. Haider and his accomplices came out from their vehicle and injured the officer by hitting him with the pistol butt. They also tried to abduct him by bundling him into their car. They hurled life threats at him.
The FIR further stated that Haider and his accomplices also tortured the mother of the officer when she tried to intercede.
