The Hub Dam overflowed late on Thursday, putting local people’s lives at risk, 24NewsHD reported.
The dam, built on the border of Balochistan and Sindh, overflowed after the water level surged to 343 feet against the capacity of 339 feet.
Rainwater from Balochistan due to downpour has been continuously entering the dam, a source of water supply to Sindh capital Karachi and Balochistan city Hub.
Authorities say an emergency has already been declared and officials concerned have been on duty to cope with the challenge. Such a surge in dam was recorded in 2007.
