Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, who is a three-day visit to Karachi, visited the residence of former president Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday and condoled his death with his sons Salman and Arsalan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Expressing his grief over the demise of the former president, Shehbaz offered Fateha for the departed soul and said that the deceased was an asset for the PML-N. “He was a forthright and an ideological person whose services for the party, democracy and the country will be remembered for a long time to come,” he commented.
Later, Shehbaz went to the Raja House and offered his condolences to Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Syed Sibghatullah Shah Pir Pagara and his brother Syed Sadruddin Shah over the death of their mother. He also, separately, condoled with Pir Sibghatullah the death of his wife.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace besides granting patience to his family members.
Other PML-N leaders and Syed Rashid Shah, son of Pir Pagara, were also present on the occasion.
PML-N president said that the death of mother was a great loss. “I have myself gone through it, and, therefore, can understand your feelings,” he said.
He further said that Pagara family’s role in struggle against the British and for the creation of Pakistan was unforgettable.
PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif also visited the residence of former Sindh governor Mumtaz Bhutto and offered his condolences to his son Amir Bux Bhutto over the passing away of his father.
Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz said that late Mumtaz Bhutto had played an important role not only in the politics of Sindh but the country as a whole. “He was the man who had featured in some important events of Pakistan’s history,” he commented.
