A thief stole cash from the donation box of a mosque after locking the door of Imam Masjid’s house in Jhelum, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Dhok Muqarab area of Jhelum where an armed thief trapped the Imam Masjid in his house by locking the gate and took away the cash from the mosque’s donation box.
Police sources said that the man started shooting with his rifle when people from neighbourhood came in the mosque to offer prayers and tried to stop him from stealing the cash.
A man named Faisal was injured by the thief’s firing. He, however, managed to flee after stealing the cash.
A case has been registered against the unknown thief and the search for the accused has been started.
