The Motorway Police has announced the closure of the M2 motorway from Lahore to Sheikhupura and the Lahore Sialkot motorway due to dense fog on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The spokesperson of the Motorway Police, Syed Imran Ahmed, said that the motorways were closed to ensure public safety and safe travel.
He added that the duration of fog on national highways increased with the cold weather and advised road users to prefer to travel during the maximum hours of the day, from 10 am to 6 pm, which are the best travel times during the foggy season.
He also urged road users to use front and rear fog lights, avoid unnecessary travel, avoid speeding and keep proper distance from the next vehicle. He said that road users can contact helpline 130 for information and assistance in case of any emergency.
