SC decides to hear cases from LHC Multan Bench through video link

On the eve of New Year, lawyers and people of South Punjab hear good news from apex court as Supreme Court has decided to hear cases from Lahore High Court Multan Bench through video link, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief Justice Yahya Afridi issued a notification on the advice of Multan’s lawyers especially senior jurist Syed Riazul Hasan Gilani.
On April 5, 2024, Multan District Bar Association’s former President Syed Riazul Hasan Gilani had written a letter to Chief Justice seeking facility of video link for hearing of cases in the High Court Bar. Later Multan Bar delegation led by Riaz Gilani had staged sit-in in front of the Supreme Court on June 6 and June 27.
Attorney General Mansoor Awan had assured the delegation that their demands will be accepted. Multan Bar Council’s lawyers has lauded CJP Justice Yahya Afridi for accepting their demand.
